Ok so I was going to submit this to AnimeLA for this year as my very last AMV till I'm back from overseas...or breakdown and buy a rendering computer there. Whichever happens first. LOL! But AnimeLA doesn't accept submissions from non-attendees. I know I could ask for an exception but ya know...I'd feel like crap doing that so instead I thought I would post it here. Watch it while it's still available, cause I don't know how long that will be.

Name: Zuko

Your Attitude Determines Your Altitude

Weekly Article:
Your Attitude Determines Your Altitude -
7 Easy Tips You Can Start Using Today For Elevating Both!

What does this really mean?

When I think of altitude, I think of "cruising altitude." You know, after an airplane takes off, it steadily climbs on a predictable trajectory until it finally reaches its cruising altitude.

This is the place where gravity is no longer a factor. The air is clearer. Things flow easier. The views are spectacular, and forward movement requires much less effort. (Some might even say that you're that much closer to heaven!)

To get to YOUR cruising altitude, there is a process, and it all begins with YOUR attitude.

Your attitude is the one solitary thing over which you have total control. You can decide how you are going to see the world. You can decide whether or not your attitude is going to support you, or hold you back. And ultimately, YOU can decide what meaning you are going to give the events that occur in your life.

The highly-respected motivational speaker Jack Canfield teaches a concept called E + R = O.

The "E" stands for Events.

The "R" stands for Responses.

The "O" stands for Outcomes.

Jack says that if you want to improve the quality of your Outcomes, you must improve and control your Responses to the Events that happen in your life. (And believe me, in life, "events" will happen!)

I'd like to offer you 7 tips that you can start implementing today to help improve your attitude, and elevate your altitude.

1) Pause - Remember the old saying "stop and smell the roses"? Well...stop means pause.

2) Breathe - Nothing helps to foster mental clarity more effectively than a few deep, meaningful breaths. (Why not take a few deep breaths now?)

3) Question better - You should ask yourself these two very important questions, and ask them often, "What's good in my life right now?" and when events happen, "What's good about this situation?" And then with an open mind, let your brain search for answers. Your brain will come up with great answers, because these are great questions.

Do the math... Great questions + great answers = great attitude. Bad questions + bad answers = bad attitude. What other great questions could you and should you be asking yourself?

4) Remember more things that really matter - Close your eyes for a moment, and think about a time when everything seemed to be going your way... Really focus on that feeling. Did you know that it's possible to experience that feeling again? (Hint...you're doing it now!)

5) Forget things that don't really matter - Spend your valuable time focusing on what you want, and simply forget about what you don't want. Anything that you put energy into expands. And if you forget about it, it magically dissolves from your experience. What do you need to forget about and let go?

6) Smile more - "A smile costs nothing but gives much. It enriches those who receive without making poorer those who give. It takes but a moment, but the memory of it sometimes lasts forever. None is so rich or mighty that he cannot get along without it, and none is so poor that he cannot be made rich by it. Yet a smile cannot be bought, begged, borrowed, or stolen, for it is something that is of no value to anyone until it is given away. Some people are too tired to give you a smile. Give them one of yours, as none needs a smile so much as he who has no more to give." ~Author Unknown

Smiles are free, yet pay big dividends. Your attitude ALWAYS improves when you share a smile. And if you can let it become a laugh, you'll take your attitude to a whole new level. Laugh often. What does it take to make you laugh?

7) Dream big - When you were young, your dreams were BIG. But somewhere along the line, you may have had your dreams mocked, ridiculed, doubted, or even crushed. I'm here to tell you that your dreams and your imagination are the keys to a lifetime of joy, fun, and freedom. Keep your dreams alive, and spend time daily thinking about them and what actions your can start taking today in pursuit of those dreams.

Death by beer

On Oct. 17, 1814, a ruptured tank at the Meux and Company Brewery unleashed more than 3,500 barrels of beer onto the streets of London, creating a wave of beer that knocked down walls, flooded basements and demolished houses. Eight people drowned.

The ninth died of alcohol poisoning, after attempting to stop the flood by drinking the beer.

Can See the Station Fire through my back Kitchen Window. Very pretty in the dark. We're about 3-4 miles away most of that being residential. We're ok and are not in immediate danger. Just thought I'd let people know and I'll update this if things change.

Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup.

On another note, we watched 'Gamers: Dorkness Rising' and it was fun. If you've played D&D...you'll be amused.

As we grow up, we learn that even the one person that wasn't supposed to ever let you down probably will.

You will have your heart broken probably more than once and it's harder every time.

You'll break hearts too, so remember how it felt when yours was broken.

You'll fight with your best friend.

You'll blame a new love for things an old one did.

You'll cry because time is passing too fast, and you'll eventually lose someone
you love.

So take too many pictures, laugh too much, and love like you've never been hurt because every sixty seconds you spend upset is a minute of happiness you'll never get back.

Don't be afraid that your life will end, be afraid that it will never begin.

Ok time for your weekly dose. It's a common thing for Sphinx kitties not to like grass. Many don't get to go outside and when they do, it's a strange and oftem frightening expereince to have blades of grass poke their feet as they walk...or sit their crying like their about to DIE! (coughs and looks at Squishie)

Anyway, Tony the Sphinx came up with a brilliant solution. Walk on the dog instead!

Your dose of laughter - Especially for a certain aspiring pilot I know!

Just in case you need a laugh:

Remember it takes a college degree to fly a plane, but only a high school diploma to fix one; a reassurance to those of us who fly routinely in our jobs. After every flight, UPS pilots fill out a form, called a 'gripe sheet', which tells mechanics about problems with the aircraft. The mechanics correct the problems; document their repairs on the form, and then pilots review the gripe sheets before the next flight.

Never let it be said that ground crews lack a sense of humor. Here are some actual maintenance complaints submitted by UPS' pilots (marked with a P) and the solutions recorded (marked with an S) by maintenance engineers.

By the way, UPS is the only major airline that has never, ever, had an accident.

P: Left inside main tire almost needs replacement.
S: Almost replaced left inside main tire.
*
P: Test flight OK, except auto-land very rough.
S: Auto-land not installed on this aircraft.
*
P: Something loose in cockpit
S: Something tightened in cockpit
*
P: Dead bugs on windshield.
S: Live bugs on back-order.
*
P: Autopilot in altitude-hold mode produces a 200 feet per minute descent.
S: Cannot reproduce problem on ground.
*
P: Evidence of leak on right main landing gear.
S: Evidence removed..
*
P: DME volume unbelievably loud.
S: DME volume set to more believable level.
*
P: Friction locks cause throttle levers to stick.
S: That's what friction locks are for.
*
P: IFF inoperative in OFF mode.
S: IFF always inoperative in OFF mode.
*
P: Suspected crack in windshield.
S: Suspect you're right.
*
P: Number 3 engine missing.
S: Engine found on right wing after brief search
*
P: Aircraft handles funny. (I love this one!)
S: Aircraft warned to straighten up, fly right and be serious.
*
P: Target radar hums.
S: Reprogrammed target radar with lyrics.
*
P: Mouse in cockpit.
S: Cat installed.
*
And the best one for last
*
P: Noise coming from under instrument panel. Sounds like a midget pounding on something with a hammer.
S: Took hammer away from midget.

http://shine.yahoo.com/channel/life/8-toxic-personalities-to-avoid-461078/

~Great article I want to share and keep for myself. Hope other can find it helpful too~

All these personalities have several things in common. 1) the more these people get away with their behavior, the more they will continue. 2) Unfortunately, most of these people don't see that what they do is wrong and as a result, talking to them about it will fall on deaf ears, leaving you wondering if you are the crazy one. 3) Most of these people get worse with age, making their impact on you stronger with time.

Frankly, life is too short to spend your time dealing with toxicity. If you can, avoid spending mucho time with people who are indicative of these behaviors and you'll feel a lot happier.

1. Manipulative Mary: These individuals are experts at manipulation tactics. Is a matter of fact, you may not even realize you have been manipulated until it is too late. These individuals figure out what your 'buttons' are, and push them to get what they want.

Why they are toxic: These people have a way of eating away at your belief system and self-esteem. They find ways to make you do things that you don't necessarily want to do and before you know it, you lose your sense of identity, your personal priorities and your ability to see the reality of the situation. The world all of a sudden becomes centered around their needs and their priorities.

2. Narcissistic Nancy: These people have an extreme sense of self-importance and believe that the world revolves around them. They are often not as sly as the Manipulative Marys of the world, but instead, tend to be a bit overt about getting their needs met. You often want to say to them "It isn't always about you."

Why they are toxic:
They are solely focused on their needs, leaving your needs in the dust. You are left disappointed and unfulfilled. Further, they zap your energy by getting you to focus so much on them, that you have nothing left for yourself.

3. Debbie Downers: These people can't appreciate the positive in life. If you tell them that it is a beautiful day, they will tell you about the impending dreary forecast. If you tell them you aced a mid-term, they'll tell you about how difficult the final is going to be.

Why they are toxic: They take the joy out of everything. Your rosy outlook on life continues to get squashed with negativity. Before you know it, their negativity consumes you and you start looking at things with gray colored glasses yourself.

4. Judgmental Jims: When you see things as cute and quirky, they see things as strange and unattractive. If you find people's unique perspectives refreshing, they find them 'wrong'. If you like someone's eclectic taste, they find it 'disturbing' or 'bad'.

Why they are toxic: Judgmental people are much like Debbie Downers. In a world where freedom rings, judgment is sooo over. If the world was a homogeneous place, life would be pretty boring. Spending a lot of time with these types can inadvertently convert you into a judgmental person as well.

5. Dream Killing Keiths: Every time you have an idea, these people tell you why you can't do it. As you achieve, they try to pull you down. As you dream, they are the first to tell you it is impossible.

Why they are toxic: These people are stuck in what is instead of what could be. Further, these individuals eat away at your self-esteem and your belief in yourself. Progress and change can only occur from doing new things and innovating, dreaming the impossible and reaching for the stars.

6. Insincere Illissas: You never quite feel that these people are being sincere. You tell a funny story, they give you a polite laugh. You feel depressed and sad and they give you a 'there, there' type response. You tell them you are excited about something and you get a very ho-hum response.

Why they are toxic: People who aren't sincere or genuine build relationships on superficial criteria. This breeds shallow, meaningless relationships. When you are really in need of a friend, they won't be there. When you really need constructive criticism, they would rather tell you that you are great the way you are. When you need support, they would rather see you fail or make a fool of yourself.

7. Disrespectful Dannys: These people will say or do things at the most inappropriate times and in the most inappropriate ways. In essence, they are more subtle, grown up bullies. Maybe this person is a friend who you confided in and uses your secret against you. Maybe it is a family member who puts their busy-body nose into your affairs when it is none of their business. Or maybe, it is a colleague who says demeaning things to you.

Why they are toxic: These people have no sense of boundaries and don't respect your feelings or, for that matter, your privacy. These people will cause you to feel frustrated and disrespected.

8. Never Enough Nellies: You can never give enough to these people to make them happy. They take you for granted and have unrealistic expectations of you. They find ways to continually fault you and never take responsibility for anything themselves.

Why they are toxic: You will spend so much time trying to please them, that you will end up losing yourself in the process. They will require all of your time and energy, leaving you worn out and your own needs sacrificed.
